Ode to one of my bestest friends

Your fine wine

What would life be if we could not have fine wine?

Or meet with a friend to laugh, share, and dine?

All things, we know, are touched by time,

Some unravel and disperse, are born or reach their prime.

A bud will expose it’s good to the light,

Its essence and beauty it’s might and a delight.

But as tomorrow comes, so does its frightful plight.

But as each day passes by, know that whether we live or die,

To suffer or to take each moment at a time is up for you to decide.

Keep in mind that as we partake of fine wine,

We must go slow in order to refine,

Or else we just condone gluttonous debauchery and silly frippery.

As your day approaches, take a hearty sip,

Wish for what you want, but don’t be surprised one bit,

When what comes at you is totally unexpected.

In all this I want to tell you,

That I am grateful for the draughts you have given me of your cup.

And I hope that all goes well for you.
